amply

Amply is software, not a service. Nobody signs up, nothing is sold, and there is no account we could suspend. This page explains what that actually means, because it changes what you can expect from us, in both directions.

The licence is the agreement

Amply is released under the Apache License 2.0. That licence is the real legal agreement covering your use of the software; everything else here describes how the thing works.

Read plainly, it grants you the right to use, modify and redistribute the code, including commercially. It includes a patent grant. And it does not grant rights to the name: fork the code freely, but ship it under your own name. The name is what an artist checks when deciding whether the thing asking for access to their Cloudflare account is the one they meant to trust.

There is no warranty. The software is provided as-is. We do not promise it works, that your music stays online, or that payments arrive. This is the standard term in the licence and we mean it literally, there is no company on call and no support desk.

What Amply does not do

These are structural facts about how it is built, not promises we could quietly break:

If you are an artist

You are the publisher and the host. That is the point, and it comes with real responsibilities:

If you are a listener

Nothing to terminate

There is no account, so there is nothing to close and nothing we could take away. Stop using the app and it stops. Delete it and any accrued payments settle first.

An artist's node belongs to the artist. If this project ends tomorrow, every node keeps serving and every listener keeps listening.

Changes

Changes to this page appear in the public repository's history, dated and diffable. We cannot revise it quietly.

Governing law

Amply is maintained from Sweden, and Swedish law applies to these terms to the extent any law does. Nothing here removes rights you have under mandatory consumer law where you live.
